At a recent work session of the Town Board Rezi Marandi came to discussed a possible $42M redevelopment of an existing structure on Route 9A in Elmsford into 100% workforce/affordable housing. The proposal is in the concept stage and probably will see changes before any plans are finalized. Your thoughts are welcome. E mail townboard@greenburghny.com
Draft plans for a sizable unit next to Dunkin’ Donuts would involve 100 units, of which 30% would qualify as affordable units, 60% workforce units, and 10% affordable units reserved for veterans. 120 cars could be parked under the structure that includes, tentatively, 30 studios, 45 one-bedrooms, and 25 two-bedrooms. Other amenities will include: laundry, community room, fitness center, a green roof, and solar panels.
By definition, “affordable” housing means eligible families earn at or below 60% Westchester County Area Median Income (AMI). “Workforce” can include from 60-120% AMI. A family would spend no more than 30% of their income to live there.
Once more detailed plans are submitted I'm happy to invite you to a community meeting to discuss. Thanks for partnering with us in the decision making process..
